6’10 Love Machine Cheet Surfboard
£849.00
This 6’10 Love Machine Cheet is a lift-focused egg that came from a request in 2017 for something fun and approachable for the beach breaks of Japan – softer faces with playful sections and average size in general, something compact that scoots with minimal input from the rider. The Cheet has a really sweet and subtle outline with its wide point slightly ahead of centre. The bottom is focused on maximizing lift with no neutral or unused space; These stay on top of the water with little pumping and draw out really smooth round lines in a variety of waves.
Not wanting to waste any foam in this pursuit of easy trim the Cheet packs a punch in every square inch of the bottom and matches that with a broad flat deck that makes a really stable and predictable platform. The rails are low and with a slight egginess to them, not too sharp or penetrating. The bottom shape is a single entry which transitions into a triple then quadruple concave – the outermost ‘rail’ concaves taper off just ahead of the side fins with little lump of spiral vee under your back foot for roll.
Whats good for Japan is also good for the UK (similar waves) making the 6’10 LoveMachine Cheet a super board for sub par conditions regardless of surfing abilities. This particular board was a customer board that never found a home due to the slightly duller finish of an epoxy glass job. Whilst it does not have the shine of a polyester resin glass job, it makes up for it in toughness, again re-enforcing this particilar boards credentials as a keeper. The board does have the name of the original customer on the stringer in tiny writing (see image), and as a result there is a small discount.
