6’0″ Jeff Mccallum PDX (SOLD)

£699.00

Combing the best qualities of a fish with a round tail, you get an easy paddling, fast, loose, and super fun hybrid board that will suit surfers looking to catch loads of waves, carve hard, and trim fast. Its an alternative one board quiver that is a best seller for Jeff and a favourite for anybody that owns one.

This board was shaped by Jeff on his last visit, and as making boards demands, we had to surf it to get a feel and appreciation for the craft. In that respect this board has been surfed by a couple of us, but only very lightly. Its glassed heavy and stood up fantastically with only a slight dimple on the deck as evidence of its ware (see image). Other than that, it pretty much a new board. A new board with a used price that is. An absolute bargain, work of art, and bit of surfing history.

Description

The PDX is the meat and potatoes of what Jeff does, the original design was called a Quagg, a hybrid of Quad+Egg, which went through a few alterations eventually ending in the PDX. The design inspiration came from the fish craze in the early 2000’s when Jeff was riding a few classic Fish’s in the 5’4″-5’6″ range but wanted something longer being 6’3″ tall. As he increased the fish length to accommodate his height the boards started to track. The solution was too combine a fish with a round pin whilst also putting some curve in the rail to loosen the board up. Since then, of the nearly 8000 boards Jeff has hand-shaped the PDX has been by far the most popular. The PDX takes takes the best of a fish and round tail design and combines them to create a great paddling, fast, super loose, and fun surfboard that goes in a huge range of conditions. Its a great alternative one board quiver for those who are looking to step down from a mid-length, or step up from a short-board.
