6’9″ Love Machine FM Surfboard (used-almost new; custom dims)

£545.00

The 6’9 FM is the fastest and loosest of the FM range. Its rounded thumb tail and relatively chunky rails means that from waist to head high this is about as much fun as you can have on a mid length. You can surf it relaxed and just let the trim do its work, or you can surf it more aggresively top to bottom, hit the lip, and give it a good ol’ hack should you fancy. This versaility, as well as the ease with which it does it, is the reason this is the best selling FM model and an absolute winner in your average UK surf conditions.

This particular board comes with slimmed down custom dims and a hand painted go faster flames, making the user freindly 6’9″ FM a more high performaning shred mahine. With volume taken out of the foil, and slimmer dims compared to the stock 6’9″ this board is more sensitive with deeper rail engagement, allowing it to be pushed harder and surfed more critically, whilst still maintaining the easy rail to rail action and speed that makes the 6’9″ FM so popular. Unfortunately a change of circumstances meant that this board did not get the love it deserved, but one persons loss is anothers gain. The board has seen little use, has very little compression on the deck, and a near perfect bottom, and so we would class it as used-like new. Given the very specific details of this board we recognise it will work for a smaller crowd than a stock 6’9″ hence the bargain price.  If you are looking for a more high performing version of the 6’9″ FM that that can be pushed harder then this is a very rare opportunity indeed.

6’9 x 20 1/2″ x 2 3/4″ = 39.7L

Notes from Ryan: “The FM isn’t a ‘channel bottom’ in the classical sense – the channel is there as a break for water flow, but it isn’t doing for the board what most designers are chasing in the deeper more exaggerated channel bottoms that are so popular right now. This design sports a pretty hefty spiral vee in the back half of the board, and while that is amazing for rail transitions and feel, it creates suction between the board and wave; the channel breaks that water flow that is sucking onto the board, so you get the three-dimensional value of the spiral vee and its rolling sensation, but without the stickiness. You’ll notice the 7’2 has a straight channel as opposed to the curved one that most have become accustomed to in seeing the FM; the first 15 or so boards all had a straight channel like this, and as Pat’s was in that batch, so I’m running with it for this model as we’re making dead on 1 for 1 copies.”
