Here we have a 6’6″ Neil Purchase Jnr 2 + 1 squash tail surfboard, which is a modified version of his general 2+1 or Widow Maker set up. It was originally influenced by Dave Parmenter’s Widow Maker Gun design, which in turn was based on a deeper thruster back fin moved forward with smaller side fins. This particular variation comes with a wider squash tail for additional speed, and fun in our typical UK conditions.

A set of matching NP Jnr 4 1/4 side fins and 6 3/4 back fin are also available with the board on request and additional cost.

This particular board was a customer trade in and is in new condition. It has a couple of very minor blemishes (see images), that are purely cosmetic, and the board has been discounted accordingly. New this board was £1100+ and so at this price is an absolute steel for a stunning board from one of the worlds most iconic shapers.

Base Construction

Base Construction (a polyurethane blank with polyester resin) is still considered the most versatile and all-round performance specific construction used the world over by touring surf professionals. At Fourth Surfboards only premium materials are used to produce top-quality boards; US Blanks at the core in blue foam and Hexcel Glass for the laminate bonded with Silmar resin for best balance between weight, performance and durability.

The Fourth construction method sees the board finished in 24/7 heat controlled environments to ensure curing times are at optimum levels to reach a finish unrivalled in Europe. The board is then sanded to a 240 dry sand finish ensuring that there is zero plastic lacquer on the board that can often look and feel horrible after a couple of months in the ocean.
