7’0″ FM Love Machine Surfboard (B-grade)

£799.00

The 7’0 FM takes the winning formula of the 6’9″ and extends the tail into a nice rounded pin. Where the 6’9′ is fast and loose and super fun in sub-optimal conditions, the tail extension of the 7’0 adds a bit more hold and control making the 7’0 FM a supremely compotent all rounder and a bit more comfortable in bigger better surf. For many of our customers who own a 7’0FM it has become their go too one board quiver. It is wider and carries a little more curve in the outline 7’2 FM, giving it a more tradiytional speed egg outline and overall a slightly more forgiving surfing experience when it comes to foot positioning i.e. You dont have to be a sprecise with your foot positioning to get the best out of it compared to the 7’2.

This particular board was made for a customer but unfortunately during storage picked up a couple of very small indentations on the bottom of the board. They are hard to spot, but we have done our best to capture them in the images. Functionally the board is pretty much perfect, but a b-grade, and the price reflects this coming in £150 cheaper than board without blemish.

This one is in clear polyester resin, 6oz bottom / 6oz + 4oz deck.

7’0″ x 21″ x 2 3/4″ = 44.1 L

Notes from Ryan: “The FM isn’t a ‘channel bottom’ in the classical sense – the channel is there as a break for water flow, but it isn’t doing for the board what most designers are chasing in the deeper more exaggerated channel bottoms that are so popular right now. This design sports a pretty hefty spiral vee in the back half of the board, and while that is amazing for rail transitions and feel, it creates suction between the board and wave; the channel breaks that water flow that is sucking onto the board, so you get the three-dimensional value of the spiral vee and its rolling sensation, but without the stickiness. You’ll notice the 7’2 has a straight channel as opposed to the curved one that most have become accustomed to in seeing the FM; the first 15 or so boards all had a straight channel like this, and as Pat’s was in that batch, so I’m running with it for this model as we’re making dead on 1 for 1 copies.”
