Description

Fourth Time Piece Mid length Surfboard – Redux

The out line of the Fourth time piece mid length surfboard has a progressive curve. Given the fact it is essentially an egg template with some hip. With a pulled in nose and straight rail line going into the pulled in thumb tail. The time piece gives you natural drive and  forward momentum with control off the tail. The stability from the plan shape and flatter deck lines means it is easy to move about in slower paced waves.

ANY WAVES

As soon as you get a bit of juice in the ocean this things handles it on rail like a boss. the tail lift and deep spiralled vee gives lift and rail hold through the tail which feel amazing as a single fin, especially on cut backs and carves. Utilising the twin set up for more pivot if you like to be more aggressive with your lines.

BE CREATIVE WITH YOUR SURFING

The rail shape stays low and knifey through out,  offering a light tri plane bottom shape for some added pivot and release. meaning you can really dig it in the face at speed to get away with far more than you could on other more conventional mid length shapes.

MORE WAVES, MORE FUN!

The rocker is very relaxed in the nose with slight tail kick. It’s a balance between wave catching and manoeuvrability off the tail. The foil follows the rocker line with a very gradual distribution through the whole board. This gives you a stable platform that paddles well, floats high in the water and maintains speed in small weak surf. With out having to be packed full of volume the Time Piece mid length is a paddler that feels alive underfoot.

The key to this board is not packing the tail or rails with too much volume; it is balanced but still very sensitive for the size and shape of surfboard.

Who should ride this surfboard?

Any surfer of any ability who want the benefits of catching waves effortlessly without the mundane straight lines of regular mals and mid lengths on the market. This is a blend of traditional trim and rail to rail surfing.

HARTYS TIP

Go for a big 8.5-9 inch flextip fin.  There is no better feeling in surfing than a huge cut back with a single fin mid length!! This set up is ideal when the waves are nice and lined up. When its got that junky feel to it then its time to ride the Time Piece surfboard as a Twin! Harty recommends  the FCS 2 power twin template for a lovely mix of pivot and drift!

Technology

Base Construction

Base Construction (a polyurethane blank with polyester resin) is still considered the most versatile and all-round performance specific construction used the world over by touring surf professionals. At Fourth Surfboards only premium materials are used to produce top-quality boards; US Blanks at the core in blue foam and Hexcel Glass for the laminate bonded with Silmar resin for best balance between weight, performance and durability.

The Fourth construction method sees the board finished in 24/7 heat controlled environments to ensure curing times are at optimum levels to reach a finish unrivalled in Europe. The board is then sanded to a 240 dry sand finish ensuring that there is zero plastic lacquer on the board that can often look and feel horrible after a couple of months in the ocean.
